Chapter Highlight: Phi Psi Moves towards Greatness

Phi Kappa Psi's formal recruitment class had a total of 18 men that will be initiated on November 8th in our national headquarters at Laurel Hall in Indianapolis, Indiana. The new members go through a 6 week education process about the history of our fraternity and individual growth. During that new member process they have completed GreekLife Edu, Sober Monitor Training, and other risk management educational programs. This year was very exciting for the alumni because they were able to tour the new houses and reminisce on their times of being in the Conklin house. We were able to meet and create relationships during homecoming with alumni that graduated as early as 1972.

Our national convention, Woodrow Wilson Leadership School, was located in Omaha, Nebraska. Every Phi Psi chapter sent their President, VicePresident, Treasurer, Risk Management Chair, Recruitment Chair, and Fraternity Educators to understand the expectations of their positions and to learn about Sexual Assault Awareness. Our largest philanthropic event, Raft Race, happened at the beginning of October. We had over 30 teams race rafts across the pool, which raised over $1000 for the Boys and Girls Club of Toledo.Our national convention, Woodrow Wilson Leadership School, was located in Omaha, Nebraska. The Phi Kappa Psi Ohio Zeta chapter strives to be within the top 25% of all fraternities in GPA, philanthropic dollars, community service hours, andtotal membership. The chapter took home the highest recognition from the National Fraternity this summer, Chapter of Excellence with Distinction, which means the chapter was accredited in all 11 categories. Also, the chapter seeks to become a Chapter of Excellence from the Fraternity and Sorority Life Standard of Excellence process.
