Chapter Highlight: Alpha Sigma Phi Taking Great Strides Forward

This semester's recruitment for Alpha Sigma Phi went fantastically. Alpha Sig recruited 19 new members, which is the largest new member class that we have seen in 5 years. Our new members are currently planning a philanthropic event to help raise money for our national philanthropy Homes for our Troops. The new members have been going through their new member process and will be initiated on Friday November 13, 2015.

On Friday of Homecoming the brothers of Alpha Sigma Phi had an alumni and undergraduate brother gathering at Easy Street, the event was well attended by many alumni including our International President and CEO. Saturday Alpha Sig had a tailgate that won the best tailgate award from the BG local News. We also had another brotherhood dinner night at Two Foxes in downtown BG that was again very well attended. Sunday the chapter held our Omega Service that honors brothers that have past away over this past year.

Our chapter had its biannually Elevate Convention! Elevate is a summer leadership convention that is offered for all undergraduates to gain leadership skills and meet brothers from across the world. This year's Elevate was in Columbus, Ohio and in 2016 we will be attending our National Convention in Virginia!

Alpha Sigma Phi is very proud to have 4 alumni from our chapter working at our international headquarters, two of which are the President CEO and Vice President. This year our chapter won the ultimate frisbee intramural championship. Alpha Sigma Phi will be hosting a Rock-a-Thon philanthropy with the lovely ladies of Alpha Xi Delta from noon on Monday, October 26 - noon on Friday, October 30; all the proceeds will be donated to Autism Speaks and The Wood County Humane Society.
