For sixty straight hours, from 7 A.M. on October 21st to 7 P.M. on October 23rd, Pi Kappa Phi occupied the Union Oval for it's biannual Cage Sit. The purpose of cage sit is to support The Ability Experience, which provides programming and support for people with disabilities. The cage represents the limitations that people with disabilities overcome everyday to function just like normal people. They can do it their whole lives, so Pi Kappa Phi puts themselves in those shoes for sixty hours. It is a difficult process, as somebody has to be awake and on site no matter the time or temperature. Even though the event is also about awareness, through donations made on-site, and online donations from alumni, family, and friends, Pi Kappa Phi is proud to announce that in just those sixty hours, $1683 were raised for The Ability Experience.
